| SEA FISHING MEETINGS HELP TO BUILD BRIDGES |
|
The Cornwall Sea Fisheries Committee (Cornwall SFC) has announced dates for its latest Sea Fishing Meetings. Held every two years they are open to everyone, not just fishermen."Anyone can attend and ask questions," said Cornwall SFC's chief fishery officer, Eddie Derriman.
"I am sure that this year the Marine Bill will be discussed in most if not all ports. Mostly the meetings keep people informed about what is happening and it's our way of improving communication between Cornwall SFC and others.
"We also invite Marine Fisheries Agency officers and have had Environment Agency officers at some meetings so that they are on hand to answer questions more relevant to themselves."
Fishermen gave the thumbs up to sea fishing meetings over previous years and in return, Cornwall SFC says they are "most valuable" to ensure better liaison between all parties.
