The SACN Executive Group have appointed Dave Morton as the SACN Regional Co-ordinator for the North East of England. Joining the SACN Exec, Dave's appointment breaks new ground in the steadily growing organisation. Regional Co-ordinators already operate within the seperate administrations of the British Isles, reflecting the different fisheries management regimes, regulations and political structures within those administrations. However, it is recognised that even within the different administrations there are regional differences, not only in conservation priorities but also involving local consultations, meetings and organisations. Dave has already demonstrated a pro-active role, not only within SACN, but also within the Save Our Sharks organisation, and he is keen to be a part of a team that has proven effective in working towards the needs of angling conservation and the devlopment of RSA. SACN's National Co-ordinator Leon Roskilly said the appointment of Dave will increase the ability of SACN to deal with issues specific to the North East, and reflects the organisation's desire to involve people at the grass roots of angling, rather than concentrate involvement and all decision-making centrally. |
