Coincident with the Launch of the English consultation on a Strategy for Recreational Sea Angling, the Welsh Assembly Government has published a consultation on their future Fisheries Strategy.
As well as commercial fishing and aquaculture, the draft strategy has significant coverage of both Recreational Sea Angling and Freshwater Fisheries in Wales.

It is vitally important that Welsh anglers, and those likely to visit Wales, as well as Welsh angling organisations at all levels should take time to read the document and to respond to the consultation.
In particular supporting those proposals which will benefit the sport, and raising other issues that they feel have been left out.
As with any Government consultation, a well argued case, supported by real evidence is likely to make a greater impact than simply accepting or rejecting specific proposals.
The closing date for responses is 7th March 2008
