Marine Bill Select Committee Evidence (Updated 11 Jun 08)

The Joint Select Committee of MPs and Members of the House of Lords is now in the process of gathering both written and oral evidence.

(Written evidence will be accepted up to 16th June)

Sessions where 'witnesses' are questioned have begun.

Written evidence, and transcripts of these sessions, will appear on the Select Committees website at:

(Oral evidence transcripts at: http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/jt/jtmarine.htm )

And it will be possible to listen to evidence submitted via Parliament Live and for 28 days afterwards

The session on 3rd June involved evidence from:

  1. Local Government Association, Association of Sea Fisheries Committees, and the Environment Agency
  2. Natural England and Countryside Council for Wales
  3. Marine and Fisheries Agency and the Joint Nature Conservation Committee

The Session which included Commercial Fishing and Angling interests that took place on 11th June was televised and will be available to watch for 28 days.

The Meeting started at 9.45am
