The combined parliamentary select committee, which has been looking closely at the contents of the Draft Marine Bill in consultation with stakeholders who have presented both written and oral evidence to the committee, has published it's report.

Committee's Conclusions
The report will now be considered by DEFRA (who have carried out their own public consultation), and the Government, before a final bill is presented to Parliament, probably early in 2009, when MPs will be able to debate and amend the final Bill, (along with the House of Lords), before the bill recieves Royal Assent and is written into law.
Report of all evidence presented to the Committee is available at: http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/jt200708/jtselect/jtmarine/159/159ii.pdf
