SACN have recieved the following from the European Anglers' Alliance (EAA) representative in Ireland.
Hello All,
As you may remember the Local Councils in Dublin had proposed to introduce laws to limit angling to just 2 small harbours in Dublin from January 2008.
Following intensive lobbying by The Irish Federation of Sea Anglers (and many overseas anglers as well) this proposal has been deferred.
The IFSA have put forward a proposal that angling will be allowed everywhere except designated swimming areas and only when lifeguards are on duty.
Talks are ongoing but it is thought that the councils will accept the proposal.
A happy and peaceful Christmas to you all.
Regards
John Crudden

Thanks to all those who took the trouble to write in.
